Volunteer

Back Country Horsemen is an active group who share a love of horses and the commitment to help improve trails and keep areas open to stock use.

Please consider the weekend of June 21 - 24, 2012, to volunteer and help fulfill our obligation to the USFS on trails Little Beaver and Fish Creek.  As you know we are committed to 3 days of trail maintenance on each trail.  If we have enough people, we can do this in one weekend.  PLEASE the trails you love to ride need you !!!

Please consider volunteering for one of more of the following activities:

  1. Helping on a committee: Trail maintenance; rides; membership; education topics at monthly meetings
  2. Organize a ride and be the Trail Boss. To list on this website's calendar, contact Kim (720-771-3232), Kathy             (970-484-6894
  3. Trail maintenance on: (trail boss, Dan Swenson
  4.     * Little Beaver Creek Trail: June 21-24, 2012
  5.     * Fish Creek Trail: June 21-24, 2012
  6. Bobcat Trailhead maintenance: NCBCH has adopted this trailhead and is asking members to clean up any manure and/or trash left behind by other riders (or yourselves), you may put it in a plastic bag and take it with you or dump it in the dumpster.
  7. Volunteer to be a "provider" of temporary shelter during an evacuation.  Go to http://www.ncbch.org/forms and find three different forms:
  •      a. Explanation of this joint program between members of NCBCH and LCHA (Larimer County Horsemen's Association).
         b. Provider form
         c. Checklist of items to pack for your horses in an evacuation
