NCBCH earned $1498 in August! On the full moon weekend of August 12 and 13, 2011, ten NCBCH BOD members along with 3 other NCBCH members and 3 tagalong
family members spent the early morning hours volunteering for the Wild West Relay. We manned two exchanges for the runners that
ran a 200 mile relay race from Ft.Collins to Steamboat Springs starting Friday morning and ending Saturday afternoon.
At one exchange 8 of us started work at 1 a.m. selling hot coffee and hot chocolate and directing van parking for the 105 teams
The other 7 volunteers were located near the base of Rabbit Ears Pass and workedfrom 4 a.m. until noon also managing van parking and recording runners’ times. This is the 8th year of the race, and the first year NCBCH has been involved. Although it was quite cold (35 degrees) and we all lost a night of sleep, we feel it was worth it to help add to our funds.
Thanks to the following individuals who bravely stormed the elements and early morning hours:
Vickie Buchanan, Cynthia Rizzo, Dan Swenson, MA Swenson, Al Ohlms, Patty Brink, SandyErskine, Gary Ellerman, Kim Foster,
Josh Foster, Kelly Ellerman, Rudy….., Ginny Craver, Rod…..
