2015 Jacks Gulch

Jack's Gulch ~ June 19th, 20th and 21st, 2015

I just wanted to let everyone know that the trail maintenance this past weekend was a wonderful success!  Vickie, Trudy, Jolynn, Ken, Marion, Donna, Gregg and myself took out 30+ trees over three days!  Most of them from the Fish Creek trail,  and a few from the Little Beaver Creek trail and the connector trail between the two.  We will have an article and photos in the next NCBCH newsletter.  Both trails have some dirt work that needs to get done at some point, but clearing the down trees off the trail makes a very noticeable difference to the everyday trail user.  Good work everyone; I'm proud of us!

I also want to remind you all that trail maintenance does not have to be part of a big organized event.  You can do a little work anytime you want, just remember to report the work you did to Nancy McDonald or another officer so that you get credit for your work!  All you have to do is carry a hand pruner and trim back branches from trees and bushes and it makes a big difference to those using the trails, including yourself.

If anyone is interested, Trudy will be back up there this coming weekend and she knows a lot about the area and how to maintain trails.  No camping required, either!  You can drive up the day of and enjoy a day in the wilderness.  Just make sure to connect with Trudy before she leaves on Thursday, so she knows to expect you.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
